For those interested in the start-of-season bird walk along the lower reaches of the LA River Sept 8th, note that other observers have noticed an uptick in the number of migrants.

Today’s LA County Birds had a posting from Larry Schmahl  of Whittier noting that “shorebird numbers are rising.”

I don’t know if we can trust the long-range weather forecast from NOAA, but it seems we should have good, not-too-hot weather, with a chance of light thunderstorms. Rather typical for this season along the coast, I might add. Light rain jackets are not a bad idea.
